TOPIC: A Pitfall To Avoid In The New Year
SCRIPTURE: So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Genesis 3:23.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Sin makes one lose God and His Voice, and when a person loses God, he has lost everything in life.
One pitfall of Adam was his sin of disobedience to God. God instructed him not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden (Genesis 2:17).
But he ate the fruit alongside his wife. They both sinned against God and were disconnected from the Presence and Voice of God. They were driven from the Garden of Eden to find their way in life.
At first, they had a relationship with God. Genesis 3:8 reveals that they always heard the Voice of the Lord God in the Garden of Eden. Every cool of the day, God came down to commune with them. That was their normal way of life.
But when Adam and Eve fell into sin, in Genesis 3:23, God sent them away from the Garden of Eden. They lost the Presence and Voice of God. They were driven out of Eden to find their way in life and do whatever they wanted to do.
You see, sin drives a person from his ordained place in God. Sin makes one to lose God and His Voice, and when a person loses God, he has lost everything in life. Therefore, make up your mind to depart completely from sin this year. Avoid the pitfall of Adam.
REMEMBER THIS: Sin makes one lose God and His Voice, and when a person loses God, he has lost everything in life.
